The retreat will begin at the breath taking Landhaus Neumayr Boutique Hotel. After the retreat we will set out on our pilgrimage around the Salzburg Lake District. We will end in the picturesque city of Halstatt which many claim to be the most beautiful village in the world!

Daily Plan
September 9-13
For the next 4 days you will stay in the beautiful mountain setting of Grossarl which is 45 miles south of Salzburg. This family run Inn will offers spacious sleeping rooms, outdoor sitting areas with breath taking views and they will serve healthy and satisfying breakfasts and lunches plus in the evening we will have authentic Austrian dinners to include a fondu party, a typical Austrian grill night plus other local delicacies. All drinks are included too.

September 13
Our pilgrimage / hike will be through the Salzburg Lake District. We will leave our beautiful villa and take a breathtaking bus trip to St. Wolfgang and stay at Hotel Furian situated on the shore of Lake Wolfgang. After an afternoon on the lake we will head to a multi-course dinner!
September 14
After a hearty Austrian breakfast we will share a devotional and then head out for our hike to Bad Ischl. The hike begins with beautiful view of Lake Wolfgang and then continues through forested trails. We will finish our 10 mile hike at the hotel Hubertushof Bad Ischl. Bad Ischl is a famous spa town!
September 15
Our pilgrimage today follows the path of the old brine pipeline which takes us through spectacular views. Our 8 mile hike finishes in the market town of Bad Goisern, a world architectural heritage site. Once we settle into the
Hotel Goiserere Muhle we will meet for stretching and core exercises. After we’ve done such great things for our body, there will still be time to go explore the village before we gather for a leisurely dinner.
September 16
The final day of our hiking will be SO magical . We will begin by following the river trail towards Lake Hallstatt, where you will walk along the lake into the fjord. After a while, you will see the first houses of Hallstatt and the Salt Mountain. Look around to see Mount Dachstein, the highest peak in upper Austria. This 12 mile hike will be so amazing with mountain peaks all around you!
For the next 2 nights we will stay at Seehotel Gruner Baum a 4 star boutique hotel on Lake Hallstatt.
September 17-18
For our final full day we will enjoy the village of Hallstatt which has been called the most beautiful village in the world. We will celebrate all that we’ve seen, experienced and especially what God has has revealed to us during our pilgrimage. The following morning after a special breakfast we will say our good byes and then head to the airport or continue our travels.
SOME GOOD THINGS TO KNOW:
- The national language is German in Austria, but many speak some English as well
- The national currency is Euros
- The weather should be in the upper 60’s – low 70’s during the day and upper 50’s in the evening
- Visas are unnecessary for North American travelers
- Double check your passport is valid for 3-months after your return date
