Meal Portions

Eating less often could be causing you to gain weight!

Some believe that eating one meal a day is a great way to lose weight. People think they are doing a good thing by cutting back their eating to one meal. This is doing more harm than good to your body. It's possible that you could see some weight loss initially but looking thin doesn't mean you have achieved health. It's a much better idea to eat small portions frequently throughout the day. It is also better than eating three large meals as many do. By doing this you can keep your body fueled without having to worry about spikes and drops in your energy. There have been studies conducted that have led to conclusions about what could happen to the body if someone ate one meal a day for a long period of time. In the end, they put themselves at a higher risk for diabetes, stroke, and heart disease. Not to mention that if you eat small portions throughout the day there is less strain on your stomach to digest the food.  

Just last night I bumped into a guy that I almost didn't recognize. He had lost 50lbs. and looked so happy. He said he used to eat only 1 meal a day and he started to eat a small healthy breakfast and then continued to fuel his body throughout the day. He had a much smaller dinner and he tried to eat it earlier than he had been. He then added exercise into his daily routine.
