Perc is a neurotoxin which is a possible carcinogen. Look for this ingredient in dry cleaning solutions and carpet stain removers. 2-butoxyethanol can cause narcosis, pulmonary edema, and severe liver and kidney damage. This compound is normally in window, kitchen, and multi-purpose cleaners.

When it comes to hygiene products that are supposed to be good for our skin, hair, and teeth you can find some surprising ingredients. Deodorant has shown to cause cancer and early onset of Alzheimer's because it contains aluminum. Many different types of toothpaste have Sodium Lauryl Sulfate which is a carcinogenic byproduct. If you can't change all of your hygenic products to ones that are natural I would suggest changing your toothpaste. Our mouths are one of the most absorbent places which is a gateway to every system in your body.

If you don't wear make-up then feel free to skip over this paragraph! There have been traces of mercury and metal in skin creams, Lead in lipsticks, and bacteria/preservatives in mascara. There are plenty of make-up and skin cream lines that take the natural route. Keep in mind that they can tend to be on the pricey side but it is worth it to protect your face from these harmful chemicals!
