Ingredients
- ¼ tsp olive oil
- 1 tbs yellow onions (finely chopped)
- ¼ clove garlic (minced)
- 1 ¼ tsp flour (unbleached or substitute with gluten-free flour)
- 1 cup mushrooms (such as cremini, chanterelle, morel, shiitake, and white button sliced)
- 6 ½ tbs chicken broth (low-sodium (use vegetable broth for vegetarian))
- â…— tsp fresh thyme (chopped)
- salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. Add onions and garlic and cook for 2 min.
- Add flour and stir until combined.
- Add mushrooms. Cook for about 5 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender.
- Add stock mixture to the flour mixture, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Add thyme and cook until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
