Inspirational Tip
“Your diet is like a bank account. Good food choices are good investments.” – Bethenny Frankel
Are you ready to invest in your health? You will need to invest time into exercise, you will need to invest time in the kitchen if you want to eat healthier but I promise it is SOOOO worth the investment.
Challenge
When thinking about losing weight and improving our health, we often focus more on what we have to give up, rather than what we get to do. Yes, it’s important to take out added sugar but let’s focus on what we can eat more of. Your challenge today is to eat at least 3 servings of vegetables (although I’d still love for you to keep your added sugar under 24 grams too!!) Maybe try some vegetables you’ve never had before, or try a new style of cooking your vegetables.
I LOVE roasted vegetables. I crank the heat up to 425°, toss a little olive oil and a sprinkle of salt over zucchini, onions, yellow squash or whatever veggies I have on hand and cook them for about 15 minutes. In general the harder the vegetable the longer it takes to cook so if you are using cauliflower, sweet potatoes, broccoli (harder vegetables) you may need to cook it a bit longer.
Recipe Makeover
Have your cake and eat it too? Why not! Try this delicious cake recipe, and you’ll start to appreciate the true flavor of dark chocolate without all the added sugar. It doesn’t need it, trust me!
