Cover dates with 2 tbsp hot water. Let sit for 10 min.
Put dates and coconut oil in a blender and blend.
Put blended dates in a bowl. Add flour, peanut butter, vanilla, and syrup and stir.
Press base into the bottom of a prepared baking dish.
Topping: In double boiler (pot over a pot with boiling water) add chocolate chips, peanut butter, coconut oil and vanilla. Stir over the boiling water until melted.
Pour topping mixture over the base and let set until firm before serving. Placing it in the refrigerator will speed this up.
