16 Bible Verses That Deeply Touch My Heart

16 Bible Verses That Deeply Touch My Heart

It was really hard to pick just 16 because there are so many Bible verses that mean so much to me. These are the 16 that came to mind. I hope and pray that the truth of God’s Words will move from your brain, to your heart, and then into every cell in your body. God’s words truly have the power to shape the way you live, love, and see the world.

You might have a handful of go-to verses as well. If not, though, one simple practice is to either create a “Notes” section in your phone  or have small note cards and when you feel a verse seems to jump off the page, write it down.

1. Matthew 11:28-30 (Message)

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.

2. Colossians 1:29

“I work very hard at this as I depend on Christ’s mighty power that lives within me”

3. 1 Chronicles 28: 9-10

“And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the Lord sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. So take this seriously. The Lord has chosen you to build a Temple as his sanctuary. Be strong, and do the work.”

4. Galatians 5:14

“For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'”

5. Luke 1:38

“Mary responded, ‘I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.’ And then the angel left her.”

6. Ester 4:14

“Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”

7. Isaiah 6:8

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!'”

8. Galatians 5:10

“I am trusting the Lord to bring you back to believing as I do about these things.”

9. Proverbs 3: 5-8 (Message)

“Trust God from the bottom of your heart;  don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life!”

10. Ephesians 2: 9-10

“Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

11. 2 Corinthians 3:17

“Now, the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, he gives freedom. And all of us have had the veil removed so that we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we have become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more”

12. Luke 12:31-32

“He will give you all that you need from day to day if you make the Kingdom of God your primary concern. So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.”

13. 2 Timothy 1:7

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”

14. Galatians 1:10

“Obviously, I am not trying to be a people please! No, I am trying to please God. If I were still trying to please people, I would not be Christ’s servant.”

15. Philippians 3:12

“I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved theses things or that I have already reached perfection! But I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and wants me to be.”

16. Ephesians 3:17

“I pray that Christ will be more and more at hime in your hearts as you trusting Him. May your roots go gown deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love.”

I’m so grateful for the way God continues to speak through His Word. No matter how many times we read it, there’s always something new and timely for our hearts. Whether you’re in a season of celebration or struggle, I hope at least one of these verses met you right where you are today.

If one of these verses spoke to you, write it down, memorize it, or even share it with a friend who might need it too.

Don’t just read God’s Word. Let it live in you today!
