It’s Time To Think About Your Thoughts


When was the last time you thought about your thoughts?? 

 

We spend so much time managing our schedules, responsibilities, relationships, and routines. We plan our meals, track our steps, set reminders, and try to stay on top of everything life throws at us.

 

But there’s one area we often forget to check in on:

 

Our thoughts.

 

What am I thinking about right now—and is it leading me closer to the life I was created to live?

 

Because here’s the truth:

Your life often moves in the direction of your strongest thoughts.

So the invitation is simple (but powerful): think about what you’re thinking about.

And don’t worry—this isn’t about being perfect or positive all the time. It’s about becoming aware.

 

 

Scripture Calls Us to Pay Attention to Our Thoughts

Paul gives us a clear and hopeful filter in Philippians 4:8:

“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

When I researched this verse across different translations, one thing stood out immediately: every version begins with “whatever is TRUE.” Some of the first questions we need to ask ourselves is this – 

 

  • Where did this thought come from?
  • Is it actually true—or just familiar?
  • Does it line up with what God says about me?
  • Is this thought helping me live with peace, love, and purpose? (Joyce Meyer often says, “You cannot live a positive life with a negative mind.”)

 

 

Renewal Begins in the Mind Before It Reaches the Heart

 

Romans 12:2 tells us:

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

 

Notice that transformation doesn’t begin with behavior change—it begins with thought changes.

When we notice our thoughts, we gain the ability to redirect them.
We replace lies with Scripture.
We replace shame with grace.
We replace anxiety with trust.

And we do it one thought at a time.

This is how renewal unfolds—not overnight, but faithfully.

 

 

A Thought to Take With You

 

You don’t have to control every thought—but you do have authority over which ones you feed.

Pay attention.
Replace what isn’t true.
Invite God into the conversation happening inside your head.

Because it’s only when your thinking changes, that your life begins to change.

And that kind of change? It lasts. 💛
