A Finish Strong Message Inspired By Tim Tebow

A Finish Strong Message Inspired By Tim Tebow

February 24, 2017 | Blog , Faith

This past weekend I attended a Halftime event in FL. Halftime (www.halftime.org) is the ministry that my husband used to work for. I LOVED attending Halftime events because they were so inspiring. I wish you could hear all the stories that were shared because I know they would move you like they did me. On the final night of this conference, Tim Tebow spoke to our group. He shared his heart with us by telling stories of things he has seen or experienced. He finished his session and left the room to a standing ovation. Wow, what a focused guy - focused on spreading the love and truth of Jesus. We had all settled back into our chairs and were listening to the worship band when Tim Tebow walked back in. Tim got up to speak again. He told us he had been in his car driving to the airport when he felt like God was telling him to turn around and share one more story. Here’s what he felt our group needed to hear, and what I believe the whole world needs to hear. He told us that when he was the quarterback at the University of Florida, they made their motto “finish strong”.  The year they won the national championship, they were committed to “finish strong”.  They won the championship because each practice they committed to “finish strong” and each game they promised to “finish strong”.  He went on to talk about what it looks like to “finish strong” and that it’s not something that will just happen unless you commit to it on a daily basis. Here’s my question to you - When you look out into the future and you picture your life if you “finished strong” - what does it look like? What does finishing strong mean to you? For Tim Tebow and his teammates, it meant winning the National Championship. They had their eye on the prize. If you don’t know what you are aiming for, you probably won’t achieve it. The Bible talks about the importance of “finishing strong”

“I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

“Don't you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!” 1 Corinthians 9:24

“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14

So…. I ask you again, what does it mean to“finish strong”? What can you do today, tomorrow, the day after that ….. to make sure you finish strong?
