Think It’s Too Late? Think Again.

Think It’s Too Late? Think Again.

Have you ever stood in front of the mirror and thought, “I wish I had started sooner”?

Maybe you’ve thought this about taking care of your body, your health, or your relationship with God. It’s too easy, especially as women, to get stuck in the habit of looking back. We replay regrets, compare ourselves to who we used to be, or feel discouraged by what we haven’t done yet. We notice the lines on our faces, the energy we’ve lost, or the years we think we wasted.

But what if we started shifting our focus?

What if instead of measuring ourselves by the past, we asked, “What does God want to do in me now?” Because the truth is, His plans didn’t stop just because time passed. The mirror may show signs of aging, but it can also reflect strength, resilience, and purpose.

Here’s 5 truths I want you to hold onto today:

1. You are not too old and it’s not too late.

Let’s get this straight right now: your age is not a disqualifier. You have not missed your window. You are not behind. The world may try to convince us that youth is when everything meaningful happens, but that’s not how God works.

God never puts an expiration date on our ability to change, grow, or be used for His purpose. Some of the most powerful moves of God in Scripture happened through people who were considered “past their prime.” Moses was 80 when God called him to lead His people out of Egypt. Elizabeth became a first-time mom in her older years and raised John the Baptist.

And you know what? I’ve lived this. When I felt called to start Faithful Workouts, I was already 47 years old. People questioned me. Some said it was too late to start something new, especially something that blended fitness with faith. But I couldn’t shake the feeling that God had more for me, and I didn’t want to miss it because of the lie that said I was too old to start a fitness ministry.

So instead of saying, “I’m too old,” try asking, “What new thing might God want to do through me in this season?”

Your story isn’t over. It’s still being written. And this next chapter could be the most beautiful of them all.

2. Your body might change, but so can your strength

Sure, things may not feel like they did in your 20s or 30s. But that doesn’t mean you can’t be strong, energetic, and vibrant today. In fact, many women over 40 experience a second wave of strength—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—once they decide to stop chasing perfection and start embracing purpose.

At Faithful Workouts, we’ve seen women in their 60s, 70s and even 80s build strength, lose weight, deepen their faith, and live with more joy than ever before. Not because they “turned back the clock,” but because they trusted God with their next chapter.

3. Start small and stay consistent

You don’t have to change everything overnight. Small steps count. They build momentum. They create rhythms. And over time, those small decisions compound into real, lasting change.

Go for a walk instead of sitting down with your phone. Try a 10-minute Faithful Workouts video in the morning before the day gets away from you. Choose one nourishing meal. Invite God into your routine with a simple prayer like, “Lord, help me honor You with my body today.” He cares about your health because He cares about you.

You don’t need a perfect plan—just a faithful next step. God honors the small beginnings (Zechariah 4:10), and He’ll meet you right where you are.

4. Let grace be your fuel, not guilt

Grace is unmerited favor. It’s God’s gift to us, not something we earn. It’s His way of saying, “I love you, not because of what you’ve done, but because I am love and i see your real beauty.”

When we apply that truth to our health journey, everything shifts.

Too many of us are used to operating from guilt. We beat ourselves up for missing workouts, eating a certain way, or not being “disciplined enough.” But guilt will only carry you so far. Grace will carry you all the way through. I love what my friend April said, “I used to exercise becaue I hated my body. Now I exerciae because I love it.”

When you move your body, let it be in response to believing you’re worthy of self-care, not punishment. When you choose nourishing food, let it be because you want to fuel your body with the right fuel, not because you have to deprive yourself because of your latest diet.

This isn’t about hustling for approval—it’s about walking in the freedom and favor you’ve already been given.

Let God’s grace fuel your future.

5. Today is the perfect day to start

If your heart is stirring, that’s no accident. That’s God whispering, “I have more for you.” Whether it’s moving your body, nourishing yourself with good food, or drawing closer to Him, this is your time.

Not next year. Not when life slows down. Not when you “get it all together.”

Right now.

You’re not too old.
It’s not too late.
And this next chapter could be your best one yet.
