Take a deep breath. If this challenge has felt a little bumpy so far, you’re not doing it wrong. In fact, here’s a fun and comforting truth: research shows that real change often feels the most uncomfortable right when it’s actually starting to work. That uneasy, off-balance feeling doesn’t mean you’re failing. It usually means your brain and body are learning something new.

Most of us hit this point with a mix of good days and harder ones. That’s completely normal. You’re interrupting old autopilot habits and creating space for new, healthier ones, and that takes effort. Effort can feel awkward, tiring, or even discouraging at times. But it’s also a sign that growth is happening.

What matters most isn’t how motivated you feel, but that you keep showing up “today”. Not yesterday. Not tomorrow. Just today. Your wins may look different each day. Some days it’s a solid workout. Other days, it’s a short walk, a better food choice, or simply deciding not to quit. Every one of those counts. Each healthy choice is like placing a brick. One by one, you’re building a foundation that will support you long after this challenge ends.

C.S. Lewis said, “You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” I love that reminder because it takes the pressure off the past and brings us back to this moment. Change doesn’t happen all at once. It happens through small, repeatable choices made right where you are.

So today, instead of asking, “Do I feel like it?” try asking, “What’s one choice today that supports where I’m headed?” Give yourself grace for any setbacks, stay present, trust the process, and let today be enough.

Keep going. You’re doing better than you think, and don’t forget to mark today complete.
