Millions of Americans experience low back pain, but I truly believe you don’t have to be part of that statistic. If you embrace the lifestyle changes I am suggesting, you can significantly improve symptoms and hopefully even prevent them.

In today's video, I discuss how inflammation affects your back health and offer tips on reducing chronic inflammation. Research presented at the February 2021 Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP) digital conference found a link between diet and low back pain.

Their findings suggest that people who consume a greater number of anti-inflammatory foods tend to experience less back pain. An anti-inflammatory diet includes whole grains, a variety of fruits and vegetables, fatty fish like salmon and mackerel, nuts, olive oil, and spices such as turmeric and ginger. On the other hand, processed foods and added sugars should be avoided as they increase inflammation and are associated with a higher prevalence of chronic low back pain, according to studies by (BioMed Central) (Cleveland Clinic).

Great news!  We have lots of healthy recipes that support an anti-inflammatory diet on our website here:

In today’s video, I share more on inflammation, and I also cover stress and the negative impact it has on back health. Make sure to watch the entire video.
