Did you know avocados are actually a fruit and not a vegetable?! And did you know the avocado is often said to be the most nutritious fruit in the world?! It is! Avocados provide more than 25 essential nutrients such as protein, iron, copper, phosphorus, and magnesium, just to name a few but despite this, it also gets a bad rap for being a food high in “fat”.
When learning how to eat healthier, it’s important to understand how God created the foods we eat. Yes, avocados are high in fat, but it’s monounsaturated fat, which is a “good” fat that helps lower bad cholesterol, as long as you eat them in moderation. There is a misconception that foods high in fat are the culprit behind obesity but the root cause of weight gain and most diseases is sugar.
