Ingredients
- ½ cup rolled oats
- ½ cup skim milk (or unsweetened plant-based milk)
- ½ cup water
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- pinch salt
- ½ apple (diced (any variety))
- 1 tsp pure maple syrup (optional, to taste, or can use honey)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- In a small pot, combine oats, milk, water, chia seeds, cinnamon, and salt. Stir well.
- Add in the diced apple and bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat to low and let simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 5–7 minutes until the oats are soft and the mixture thickens.
- Stir in the maple syrup and vanilla extract (if using).
- Pour into a bowl and top with more apples, nuts, and a dash of cinnamon.
- Serve warm and cozy!
