Banh Mi Dressing


  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 2 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds

Instructions:  Put all ingredients except sesame seeds in a blender. Blend until smooth - reserve 1/4 cup of dressing in a container to use for marinade. Add sesame seeds to the remainder of the dressing and stir.



  • 1/4 cup Bahn Mi Dressing (reserved from above)
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sweet chili sauce

Instructions: Mix thoroughly.



  • 1 lb pork loin (partially frozen for easy slicing)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup Bahn Mi Marinade (from above)

Instructions:  Slice the pork loin into thin slices (1/4") and place in a bowl. Pour the marinade over the slices and coat completely. Let sit for at least 10 minutes.

Pour the oils into a wok or a large skillet. Make sure to spread the oil to cover the surface of the pan. Heat to medium-high temperature. Add the pork slices and cook thoroughly and slightly browned.

Pickled Onions


  • 1 large onion (any kind)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Instructions:  Combine the water, vinegar, and sugar in a saucepan and simmer on the stovetop until the sugar has dissolved. In the meantime, slice the onion into desired sizes. Once the liquid is heated through and the sugar is dissolved, pour the liquid over the onions and let sit for at least 15 minutes. Drain before serving.

Other Bowl Ingredient Options:

  • 4 cups lettuce
  • 4 cups cooked rice
  • 2 cups carrots - shredded
  • 1 small cucumber - thinly sliced
  • 4 radishes - thinly sliced
  • 1  red pepper - thinly sliced
  • jalapeños - remove seeds and slice
  • 1 cup cilantro leaves
  • Bahn Mi dressing (from above)
  • 1 lime cut into four pieces
  • 1/8 cup chopped peanuts

Instructions:  Assemble bowls using the lettuce and/or rice as the base. Add the pork and any preferred toppings. Enjoy!
